Missions

 Mission Exposure     20 church and community members enjoyed an overnight trip to Syracuse.  Meals were prepared Thursday evening and distributed Friday noon at Perseverance Park.  Cleaning, child care, breakfast and lunch preparation and games and socializing with participants in a sheltered setting were highlights of Friday morning activities.  Stay tuned for the next opportunity.

Ongoing – Volunteers are sought for Mission trips to the areas of our Upper New York Conference affected by the hurricane flooding.  Please contact the church office (315-287-2440) if you can assist with this work, the secretary can put you in contact with the appropriate person.

August  – We’ve Got Your Back to School.  We are collecting the following school supplies to distribute: folders, glue sticks, pencils, 1 subject spiral notebooks, composition notebooks, cap erasers.  We are also collecting new underwear for elementary age children.  Professional hairstylists from the community will be present to give free haircuts.

October – We’ve Got Your Back in the Cold – donated coats are available at the church.

December – donated stuffed animals and fleecy blankets were given to the Foster Care organization for distribution to kids in foster care.  Angel Tree gifts helped a young family have a brighter Christmas celebration.

December – the Christmas offering is collected to support several mission opportunities.

February – We’ve Got Your Back on Vacation Take 2 – stay tuned for dates and more information (or contact the church office, 315-287-2440).

June – August, scholarships for those attending a Methodist camp. $75 and go!  Check out the opportunities here: http://aldersgateny.org/

Through out the Year – United Methodist Women – this group pledges a portion of its’ income to support Mission projects.

July – Vacation Bible School Offering -the monies faithfully brought in by the children support various opportunities.

2016 – North Country Mission of Hope.

2015 – the Ugandan Water Project.

2014 – Ryan’s Wish Foundation to support local families and individuals  needing            assistance as they travel to medical appointments.

2013 – “To Haiti With Love” for burn creme.

2012 – the Fresh Air Fund.

2011 – UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) to assist with tornado and flood relief in the Midwestern US.
