United Methodist Women (UMW)

There are two active units or circles at our church. Unit 2 meets the first Tuesday at 12:30 p.m., Room 101. Their president is Sally Hayden. Unit 4 meets on a Wednesday evening. Contact Jeanne Garner for meeting times. There are also Units 1 and 3 who do service projects. Contact Joanne Stowell, Unit 1, or Judy Bush, Unit 3. Co-Leaders for the general UMW are Hazel Finley and Laura Conklin. Please feel free to contact any of these women about joining a unit of the U.M.W. The organized unit of UNITED METHODIST WOMEN shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.


The UMW is actively involved in financial support of our church, as well as missions locally, nationally. and internationally.



Our first meeting will be more like a Kick-off, Wednesday night at 6:30 pm… April 1st. I will be introducing my visions of the unit: discuss the mission in regards to the Book of Ruth and give a summary of the story (handouts to be included); watch The Passion of Christ together with husbands- no children. Future Ideas for group: Intro/Find interest in courses, have guest speaker night to introduce different committee members and committee, tour of the church, discussion/ Education regarding membership/ tithing/church logistics/procedures, adult/couples game night (coffee and snack with Bible trivia/ charades), Fundraiser- 5k, Coffee fellowship, Car wash.
