Meet Jesus

Sunday School – classes for all ages begin at 10 AM.    All parents/guardians must complete a registration form for students.   We’ve got a great group of teachers, classes for Kindergarten students – Adults.  Child care is available during Sunday school, for parents who wish to attend the Adult Class or sing in Choir.  Please join the group!  2018-19 SS:Youth Reg.

Sparkling Saints Support Group -this women’s group meets monthly in Brown Chapel.   Do you have burdens that you carry with you daily?  Are you seeking healing through a connection with God and support from friends in faith?  Come and talk with other women to lift each other up and be grounded in God’s love and care.  Please check the website calendar for the next meeting date.  Led by Danielle Atria.  Upcoming meetings are scheduled for March 19 and April 2 at 6 PM.

Youth in grades 6 – 12 are invited to gather.  We plan to meet monthly to spend some time playing games, getting to know each other, learning about following Jesus, and making some plans for the year ahead.  Please let Pastor Beth know if you plan to attend (315-287-2440).   For students in grades 6 – 12.

Devotional Pilates – helps you care for your body and spirit.  Meeting time Saturday mornings, 8 AM in Brown Chapel.  Looking for more fitness opportunities?  Rip It meets Sunday (4:15PM), Monday (7:15 PM), Tuesday (7:15PM), and Thursdays (6:15PM).  Contact Amber Ormasen for more information: amberormasen@gmail.com.

Neighborhood Center Volunteer Opportunity – the Neighborhood Center is looking for volunteers every other Wednesday morning to help unload the Food Bank truck.  Can you help?  Please contact the church office (315-287-2440 or firstumcgouverneur@gmail.com) if you are interested in helping.

Friday Lunch – on Friday each week a team prepares and serves a home cooked meal to the senior citizens of our community. Meals can be consumed in Fellowship Hall (noon) or can be delivered to locations in town. Assistance is always needed – from dishwashers to delivery persons. If you would like more information about volunteering your time or would like a lunch please call the church office (315-287-2440).


Congratulations to our college and high school graduates.  They were honored June 17 during the morning worship.  We wish them the best in their future endeavors!
